Tezos Showcases Asian NFT Artists At Singapore Art Week 2022
As part of Singapore Art Week 2022, blockchain platform Tezos is showcasing NFT artwork from some of Asia’s best digital artists.
Titled ‘NFTs: The New North Star’, the Asia-centric NFT collection, held at the S.E.A. Focus gallery space features works minted from over 15 digital artists from Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, South Korea, India and Brunei.
Tezos will also be hosting a live minting experience at the exhibition for visitors to mint their own generative NFT. The generative artwork algorithm was developed by award-winning artist radarboy3000 whose portfolio includes work with Cartier, Disney, and Coca Cola.
NFTs generated at the event will be minted on the Tezos blockchain and will be accessible via Tezos’ browser-based Kukai wallet.
Tezos developed the collection in collaboration with S.E.A. Focus and CAWA (Crypto Art Week Asia). The exhibition marks the first time a public blockchain is presenting at Singapore Art Week and S.E.A. Focus.
From nostalgic 90s comic book designs to traditional aesthetics, the constellation-themed collection is aimed to empower artists from all disciplines.
David Tng, Head of Growth at TZ APAC, said: “The utility of NFTs has come a long way in the past year, having impacted the art world from the ground up. No longer limited to traditional pathways, NFTs have offered alternatives to a new generation of creatives in terms of creating, exhibiting, owning, and monetising their own work.”
“In a diverse region that has embraced innovation head on, we’ve seen a great deal of growth within the NFT ecosystem and this Tezos-powered showcase is a testament to and a celebration of the exciting developments and talent that we’re seeing across Asia.”
