Metaverse Gaming Guild YGG Expands in Southeast Asia

Yield Guild Games Southeast Asia (YGG SEA), the first sub-DAO of Yield Guild Games, has started local operations in Vietnam, following successful launches in Malaysia, Thailand, and Indonesia.

According to a blog post by YGG SEA this week, a Vietnamese team has been co-founded by Lagunast and a local entrepreneur Minh Loi Hang, who is active in insurtech, real estate tokenisation and live streaming technology development, to bring the play-to-earn (P2E) guild to the country.

YGG SEA invests in non fungible tokens (NFTs) used in virtual worlds and blockchain-based games. It currently participates in over 30 games, including actively managing popular titles like Axie Infinity, Starsharks, Wasted Lands, and Wonderhero. The guild will also introduce Dracoo Master, Tap Fantasy, and Fancy Birds in the coming weeks, the announcement said.

According to YGG SEA, 166,000 badgeholders have joined its community since its launch in November 2021. The platform said it sees “rapid expansion and growth potential” of play-to-earn gaming in the region, where it expects to open more offices in the near future.

The platform was recently announced as a backer in “Create2Earn” pixel art metaverse Chillchat’s $1.85 million seed equity funding round led by Solana Ventures.
